Name: Randy
Age: 51
Diagnosed in: 2007
Treatments: 3 surgeries, 1st for hemangioblastoma in cerebellum, 2nd and 3rd for oligodendroglioma in right parietal
Tumor Type: Oligodendroglioma
Notes: Diagnosed with two low-grade tumors, oligodendroglioma in parietal lobe and hemangioblastoma in cerebellum. Very fit and active, had a general seizure out of the blue. MRI saw two spots and scheduled surgery for cerebellar tumor first, full resection. 2nd surgery for oligo was more complicated so first did a partial resection, then went to another treatment center for full resection using iMRI guided surgery. Had some left sided paralysis, physical therapy really helped. He is doing great, married, works full-time, swims a lot and enjoys yoga. He is, "hoping to help others battling this type of tumor".
