On behalf of the volunteers and staff at the National Brain Tumor Society, we would like to thank you for taking the first step toward your journey as an activist for the brain tumor community.
We will walk you through the process to help you make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. How you choose to fundraise is limited only by your imagination and ambition. We know that the experience will be deeply rewarding and we encourage you to connect with as many people as possible to support this incredible cause.
Almost any fundraiser you can think of can be held to benefit NBTS. You can plan a bike ride, run/walk event, or golf, bowling, or tennis tournament. You can also hold a dinner, dance, auction, bake sale, or garage sale. With our online tool for events like yours, fundraising to benefit NBTS is easier than ever. We are eager to talk with you about your ideas. There are a number of ways that we can help and we would love to talk about what NBTS can offer. We look forward to collaborating with you; we know that the efforts of individuals like you are vital to the mission of the NBTS. Some of the services your event will help support:
- Patient Services Line – Through this toll-free information and support phone line, staffed by trained health information specialists, NBTS responds to over 1,000 phone and email inquiries for information and support each month.
- Research Funding – NBTS funds projects in many of the leading medical institutions in North America. In 2008 alone, NBTS granted $4.5 million dollars to research.
- Outreach and Support Programs – These programs include Caregiver Trainings across the country, informational Web/Teleconferences, peer support groups, and more.
