Kids need a new standard of brain tumor care NOW! Join us in September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month #CCAM, to raise important funds to improve the lives of children battling brain tumors. Please give NOW to save these children and drive critical research toward a cure!

Brain tumors are now the leading cause of cancer-related death in children 0-19 years of age – recently surpassing leukemia.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 2017 is a time to honor young cancer patients and their families, as they struggle through the experience of living with this disease. Each year, we join hands with our friends across the cancer community to help these kids fight against all types of cancer, including brain cancer.

So, join us this month as we celebrate our kids, and we hope you’ll participate in our many activities planned for this month:

Social Engagement – Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram to share poignant stories, videos, blogs and content that will help pediatric brain tumor patients. Use the hashtag #CCAM.

Submit your Patient Artwork – Calling all childhood cancer families! The Alliance for Childhood Cancer is calling out for patient artwork submissions that will be displayed at the 3rd Annual Alliance for Childhood Cancer Art Exhibit. The exhibit will showcase the work of child patients, and will be featured on Capitol Hill following the Congressional Childhood Cancer Summit in September. Theme of artwork should reflect a child’s treatment experience or childhood cancer journey. Submit on unlined, white 8.5 x 11 inch paper, Scan as a .jpg or PDF file and email your submission(s) to Rosalie Abbott (rosalie.abbott@cancer.org) by Friday, September 8th. In email, include child’s name, age, diagnosis, and state of residence.

Patient Journey  eBooks – Check out our brand new eBooks for sharing stories from brain tumor patients and their families. Read Sydney’s story.

New videos and blogs – Check out our new videos in the sidebar on this webpage, as well as our blog about Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Public Policy – This month we will take part in various advocacy activities in coordination with the Alliance for Childhood Cancer, while particularly advocating for the passage of the Childhood Cancer STAR ACT, one of our legislative priorities.

Tulips Against Tumors – Beginning on September 7, our beautiful, annual fundraising campaign encourages you to purchase tulip bulb packages so that you will see gorgeous, delicate tulips bloom in the spring. Our friends at EcoFlowers donate a portion of the proceeds to NBTS. Honor friends, family and loved ones today by purchasing tulips.

CureFest 2017: NBTS will have a table at CureFest again this year in Washington DC on September 16 – 17 at the National Mall. Come visit us and tell us about your pediatric cancer story.
