“If I could fill the world with tulips, I would”
These words spoken by Kelly Heinz-Grundner during her two-year fight with a brain tumor were the catalyst for the 12-year Tulips Against Tumors tradition. Since her passing in 2005, Kelly’s memory and her love of tulips is celebrated each year by her family and the National Brain Tumor Society where 50% of each tulip or mixed flower purchase is donated back to the National Brain Tumor Society to find better treatments and, one day, a cure for brain tumors.
Whether you are planting tulips or mixed flowers to celebrate a survivor, paying tribute to a family member or friend who has battled a brain tumor, or you simply enjoy the beauty of tulips, Eco Flowers has the best tulip arrangements to brighten your garden. Carefully planted in the fall, these symbols of hope bloom in spring to signify a new beginning.
There are many ways you can participate:
- Purchase Tulip Bulbs or Mixed Flowers: 50% of your purchase will be donated directly to the National Brain Tumor Society. Order your flower today!
- Make a Donation in Lieu of a Flower Purchase: We always offer the option to make a donation in honor or in memory of someone battling. Support the National Brain Tumor Society with a donation!
- Tell Your Friends: Share this page with friends, family, and followers on social media so they too can experience the joy of beautiful spring tulips. Follow our Tulips Against Tumors posts on Twitter and Facebook.
- Host your own Community Event: We have members of the brain tumor community host events of all sizes and types – 5k races and walks, jeans days, corporate events, remembrance celebrations, and more! If you have an idea to raise funds in honor or in remembrance of a loved one, check out our Community Events webpage or contact our Community Events Director, Lauren Gainor, at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
Tulips will be shipped to customers living in colder locations first beginning in late September. Your last day to make a Tulips Against Tumors purchase is October 4, 2017.
More About Tulips Against Tumors
Founded in 2005, the Kelly Heinz-Grundner Brain Tumor Foundation (KHG) partners with the National Brain Tumor Society to honor Kelly Heinz-Grundner who passed away in 2005 after a courageous two-year fight against a brain tumor. Kelly’s love of tulips inspired the 12-year tradition of selling tulips to support brain tumor research for treatments, and one day a cure. The National Brain Tumor Society is proud to carry on the Tulips Against Tumors tradition in recognition of the brain tumor community, as well as supporting tulip lovers across the country. We are once again partnering with EcoTulips to feature a wide array of bulbs and mixes.
