Brain Tumor Size of a Plum

Lori

My mother, Miriam, died in 1964 at the age of 27. I, her daughter, was four years old. I was told she died from a brain tumor the size of a plum. I was also told had she lived (survived the brain tumor) at that time, the quality of her life would be that of a vegetable. She would have ended up living in a wheelchair, needing constant care. Prior to her symptoms, my mother was a very full of life person. She was a restaurant waitress and a hairdresser. She enjoyed socializing, hosting parties and seeing the countryside. My mother was a people person, always smiling and talking to others. She enjoyed parents and aunts and uncles, cousins, the in-laws as well as school and work friends and my little friends. Everyone was constantly coming over. Miriam also enjoyed animals. Miriam is missed.
