Grade 4 GBM Survivor

Tracy

On November 18, 2012, I had a massive seizure and essentially dropped dead in our dining room, my wife got my heart started and I rushed to the hospital. They did an MRI and discovered a large mass in my brain. They found out that it was Grade 4 GBM and closed me up and said they removed all that they could without rendering me speechless and possibly paralyzing me right side. They also said I had about 6 months to live and I should get my affairs in order. I was a week from turning 51. My wife knew someone that survived a Grade 3 GBM so we were able to get an appointment with his surgeon at MD Anderson. They were able to remove 100% of the tumor. After 30 rounds of radiation and 22 months of chemo pills, I am still alive and have not had it return as of yet. My wife saved my life so the Drs. could do their jobs. There is hope for cancer patients, we just need to find a cure.
