I lost my love to GBM

Joan

August 8th 2011, the day we were told we see a mass on his brain. My husband Duke had not one, but three tumors. It was Glioblastoma, the most deadly and aggressive type of primary brain tumor. Standard treatment, chemo and radiation were the only options available, no clinical trials in his case. The tumors robbed my husband of his cognitive function and robbed our family of my husband, our children’s dad, our grandchildren’s Pop. Duke only survived 11 months from day of diagnosis. This year will be our 4th year doing the Race for Hope Philadelphia in honor of Duke, and for hope for the future for other brain cancer warriors.
