Unexpected Brain Tumor

Natalie

After living with no health problems for 19 years in a row, I felt like I was invincible. Until one night, when I started to feel the entire left side of my body go numb. I didn’t think anything of it as I still had full functionality of it. It didn’t hit me until the next night, when I would have a transient ischemic attack. It was something that I knew nothing about. I thought it was a stroke. I’m thankful that I was with my boyfriend that night or else I might not have ever made it to the emergency room as fast as I did. As soon as we got there and they did a ct scan of my head, everything would happen all at once after the doctor told me about the tumor. That night I was transported to another hospital 2 hours away, and 2 days after that I had the surgery to remove the tumor. I remember vividly being in the ICU by myself crying because of how scared I was. When they did the surgery, they got the tumor out in full, and thank goodness, it was just an epidermoid. I think that this will take the rest of my life to process, as this is very scary and came so unexpectedly, but for the time being, I am in recovery and good spirits.
