Head to the Hill

Head to the Hill took place on May 8 and 9, 2017. National Brain Tumor Society is proud of the work each and every advocate put in to make Head to the Hill such an amazing, inspiring, powerful event in 2017. 308 advocates from 38 states across the United States gathered in Washington, DC to advocate for issues that affect the brain tumor community.

Volunteer advocates took real, meaningful action and informed their members of Congress what is important to their constituents. Together, these volunteer advocates held 223 meetings with congressional offices. Not only did the they take action in Congressional meetings, they built awareness on Capitol Hill and across the US! Advocates from all across America called, tweeted, and sent over 1,000 letters to members of Congress as part of our Action Day.

Please Save the Date for next year’s Head to the Hill, which will take place on May 7 & 8, 2018 in Washington, DC.

Continued advocacy for the brain tumor community is necessary year-round. Learn about how to take action by visiting our Advocacy Tools & Training page, and join the nearly more than 40,000 brain tumor advocates across America making a difference in policies and legislation that affect the brain tumor community. Sign up here to receive advocacy-related emails and become an advocate.

Each year, we encourage advocates from all 50 states to attend Head to the Hill, so that each and every state is represented and so all Members of Congress can meet with and learn about the issues that face the brain tumor community. In 2017, 38 states and the District of Columbia were represented at Head to the Hill.
