The Matt Shackelford Memorial Golf Tournament

Welcome to the 2nd Matt Shackelford Memorial Golf Tournament!

Presented by the Beaver Cup Board of Directors.

In the spring 22’, we lost our dear friend Matt after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  As many of you may know, Matt was an avid golfer.  So, in his honor, and after raising more than $8,600 last year, we would like to officially start the tradition and invite you to play in the second annual Matt Shackelford Memorial Golf Tournament at Kiln Creek on May 5th.  

The format is Captain’s Choice with a shotgun start at 1:00pm. Registration will open at 11:30 am. Feel free to arrive anytime between 11:30am-12:15pm to check in, warm up, enter raffles, etc. Price is $100 which will include: range time, golf, carts, dinner, prizes for long drives, closest to pins, winning team, and $10,000 with an ace on hole #4.  

Of course, to trim those scores, we’ll also be selling mulligans, string, and solo cup tee shots. We’d love for you to be a part of this day to remember Matt, raise money for a much-needed cause, and have some great fellowship and fun on the links.  We’ll have teams of 4 but feel free to sign up with any number of golfers and we’ll find a team for you.

JUST THE SOCIAL AND NO GOLF

Not a golfer? We would love to have you join us after the round for food, fellowship, and prizes.  We will be serving a Cinco de Mayo themed meal. We’ll finish the round at approximately 5:00P.M. Cost is $45 (a portion of the proceeds will also go NBTS).

MobiChair® Floating Beach Wheelchair: Next to the golf course, Matt's happy place was at the beach, especially Assateague Island and Yorktown Beach. Unfortunately, many people aren't able to enjoy the beach because of mobility issues - wheelchair dependence, balance or strength issues or diseases that cause progressive decline - like brain cancer. In an effort to increase access to a healthy and uplifting leisure activity for people who experience these barriers, we will be donating a Mobi-Chair to Yorktown Beach that can be borrowed, free of charge, to beach-goers who would otherwise not be able to enjoy the sand and water with their loved ones.

We are looking for sponsors for this event. It is $125 to sponsor a hole, range or putting green. There is also opportunity to sponsor a gift basket for giveaways & silent auction, or provide gifts for swag bags.
