Told the Angel of Death to Take a Hike…….

Becky

It all started when I was working as a janitor in 1989. The owner of the restaurant that I worked at had told me to start coming in at night and clean up the restaurant. So I did. Only after working there did I realize that something was wrong. I started to experience a headache only as it turns out, it was the tumor that had started to grow and making me feel miserable. So, I told my mom that I was going to have some lunch and be back later. But, as soon as I got done with lunch, I decided to walk across the street and buy a 6 pack of beer and walk in Lake Erie. Because the pain was horrible.

It felt as though someone had taken my head and put in a vice and started to clamp it shut. So, I went home and told mom about it. And asked if she could get me a doctor’s appt. So she did. But, instead, I had to go and get a cat scan first. Which showed an interventricular giant cell astrocytoma in the central drainage hole of my brain. Needless to say, the only thing I could ask was what is the name of a neurologist I could see about this. Only a waitress intervened and told me “this is your life we are talking about here, and you need to see someone at the Cleveland Clinic.” So I did. And the rest is story.
