End of Year Appeal 2017
Without your help, brain tumors will continue to cause death and physical or mental challenges to otherwise healthy, vibrant people around the world. This is completely unacceptable.
Over the last 25 years, the National Brain Tumor Society (and its two legacy organizations) have funded more than $35 million in brain tumor research grants to hundreds of researchers at leading cancer institutions around the world to find a cure. Only your donations and support make this possible. So we’re asking you to join our Annual End of Year Appeal, and please GIVE so we can Turn Progress Into Promise and Hope!
As we end another year without a cure for all kinds of brain tumors (there are 140 types), we are acutely reminded during the holidays of the sense of urgency and need for new treatments for brain tumor patients. We need to give them a voice and a chance to fight this disease. And whether they are malignant glioblastomas or low grade and benign tumors, all brain tumors are dangerous.
Did you know NBTS-funded research has led to at least 7 experimental medicines that are now advancing forward in active clinical trials and could become new treatments?
Did you know that through our research, we better understand brain tumors and their origins so we can now find better ways to stop them, and we funded many current treatment options for patients?
Or that we actually helped build the neuro-oncology field years ago by supporting and partnering with some of the world’s foremost researchers, doctors, surgeons, and cancer-support groups?
Did you also know that our advocacy work helped drive a $2 billion increase for NIH funding for research, helped pass the 21st Century Cares act, and we helped write the Childhood Cancer STAR Act that if passed into law, will help fund and find ways to cure pediatric cancers?
We showcase the ways your donations and generosity have helped us through the years drive progress, momentum, and tangible results in the brain tumor field. And, we ask that you please consider giving to the National Brain Tumor Society this season during our annual End of Year Appeal, so we can drive even more discoveries that will lead directly to new treatments and a cure.
