Meet Our Speakers

Grace Tobin, MD

Dr. Grace Tobin is an assistant professor of neurology in the division of neuro-oncology at the University of Minnesota. She is a board-certified neurologist and completed a clinical neuro-oncology fellowship at Johns Hopkins in combination with a research fellowship at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Tobin’s experience includes providing comprehensive care to patients with primary brain tumors, as well as patients with brain metastases, leptomeningeal disease, and neurological complications related to cancer. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams, including neurosurgery, radiation oncology, palliative care, neurology, and medical oncology, to create personalized treatment plans for each patient. Her skills include using cutting-edge therapies such as

immunotherapy and targeted therapy, in addition to supporting quality of life and wellness in survivorship.

Dr. Tobin’s academic and clinical research interests include improvement of quality of life and symptomatic management of primary tumors of the central nervous system, as well as biomarker integration into clinical trials research.

Tosha Besosa

Tosha is a dedicated mom to Brianna (19) and Tristan (17), and a stepmom to Josh (26). She is also a registered nurse whose life changed dramatically after being diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM) in June 2018. Due to the tumor carrying the H3K27M mutation, her diagnosis was reclassified as a diffuse midline glioma.

Since 2019, Tosha has been stable on a clinical trial with ONC201, which recently received FDA accelerated approval. She is passionate about giving back as a volunteer mentor in the brain tumor community and actively participates in brain cancer awareness 5Ks. Currently, she is training for a half-marathon.

Tosha enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and staying active. She lives each day fully, guided by her motto: “Faith over fear.”
