National Brain Tumor Society believes that every patient is unique and has a right to know all of their options. That’s why we launched our MyTumorID campaign, designed to ensure that all patients and their care partners are equipped with the tools they need to make decisions that are right for them.

Brain tumors are complex, and biomarker testing is key to understanding the molecular makeup of a brain tumor, which can provide critical information about diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options. Biomarker testing can also open doors to innovative treatment options for specific tumor types that are available only in clinical trials, which are often considered the best management for any patient with cancer. MyTumorID explains the importance of biomarker testing for patients with brain tumors and demystifies the often intimidating prospect of enrolling in a clinical trial for patients who are grappling with the worst news they may ever receive, “You have a brain tumor.”
