Double your donations with employer matching!

Many employers offer to match gifts made by their philanthropic employees. Whether you donate to National Brain Tumor Society through direct mail, research donations or event donations – check with your Human Resources Department to see whether your company participates.

If you have a donor advised fund, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to NBTS directly from your DAF (as long as your DAF’s sponsoring organization is participating).

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes.

A contribution of stock or securities is an excellent way to support National Brain Tumor Society’s mission and receive significant tax benefits. If you wish to contribute in this way, please notify us in advance about your donation by emailing our Development Office at donations@braintumor.org so we may properly recognize your donation.

If you are 70 ½ years of age or older, you are now eligible to make tax-free distributions directly from your IRA to National Brain Tumor Society. The following are the basic criteria for this type of gift:

  • You must have reached your 70 ½ birthday before making the gift.
  • The gift must come directly from your IRA account to National Brain Tumor Society – your IRA plan administrator will provide forms to request IRA charitable gifts, also referred to as the IRA charitable rollover.
  • You can give up to a maximum of $100,000 in IRA charitable rollover gifts in any calendar year.
  • These gifts cannot involve any “donor benefits,” like tickets to a fundraising gala or anything where you might receive some benefit of monetary value.
  • These gifts should be directed only towards qualified U.S. public charities like National Brain Tumor Society, and may not be directed to donor advised funds.
  • These gifts count towards your Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).

National Brain Tumor Society can provide you or your IRA administrator with a letter to facilitate an IRA charitable rollover gift.
