My dad was diagnosed in 2018 and our entire world crashed around us – a terminal brain tumor? My dad? HOW? Why him?
He was supposed to retire the next month after 40 years of being a doctor (cardiologist). He had earned it. It was so unfair. We decided to not dwell, but to fight. He fought “strong like bull” for 2 years, and was positive, humorous and optimistic the entire time. He was such a light in our lives.
He continues to be a light even though he’s gone.
These were the hardest two years of our lives, but I am so very grateful to have been able to call him mine. We knew we were on borrowed time, and made the absolute most of it. I have no regrets, and feel like I truly said everything I wanted to. I am sad he won’t get to meet my future kids, but they will know him. He is my guardian angel, and I can feel him with me all the time!
