In 2013, the Madison Brain Tumor 5K was started by the Pink Family to honor the late Douglas Pink – a father, a husband, a son, and friend. When they started this event, the Pink family could have never known the lives they would be touching and the impact they would have on thousands around the country through the Madison Brain Tumor 5K.
Over the last decade, the event has raised over $428,000 and convened thousands. The love for this event has expanded so much over time, that the Pink family has invited the National Brain Tumor Society to be a more integral part of the event – not just on event day, but year-round.
Moving forward, we’re excited to update the event name to the Wisconsin Brain Tumor Walk & Race to reflect the growth of this event and our support of the brain tumor community, not just in Madison, but all those in Wisconsin and the surrounding communities.
