High-Grade Glioma

My name is Cati, and I’m 27 years old. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor when I was 24. At that age, I definitely didn’t think it would be a brain tumor diagnosis, but life is crazy.

I remember the morning I knew something was wrong. I woke up to a horrible, painful headache, and I kept throwing up whenever I tried to eat. I called out of work and went to the hospital. I had an MRI done, and that’s when they told me I had a tumor. I was then transported to a different hospital by ambulance because they had the correct equipment to treat me.

It feels like an old memory now, but it was only like three years ago. I remember staying at the hospital for two weeks. I had brain surgery, and that’s when my life completely changed. After the surgery, I spoke with a speech impediment, I could no longer walk, and I lost my balance. I stopped working and driving. My life was no longer the same.
