My name is Chris, and my story is unlike most. I had a brain tumor that was removed before I ever really knew I was alive. I was only 10 months old when mine was taken out in Charleston, South Carolina. This was after going to doctors in Baltimore and Duke. Mine was discovered after I would pass out while with family. It was a choroid plexus papilloma.
I had regular seizures until I was 6, then had one at 11 and my last one at age 15. At 17, I took myself off of medication. Two days after I turned 20, my cousin called me to tell me he was going to the doctor for headaches. It turned out to be a glioblastoma, and my strong cousin turned into a vegetative state and died within eight months. After years of struggling with this, I prayed for direction. My wife and I began a mission where we went all over the country, taking Bibles to outreaches and sharing the message of hope and brain cancer awareness. I will be 47 years clear on May 24, 2025, and I would love to share this message every chance I get.
