My Son Jonathan

My son Jonathan died in 2021 at the age of 34.

In 2019, a tumor was discovered in the left frontal lobe. He was fortunate to be able to go to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. Tumor was removed and tested — a grade 2 glioma. He had radiation then chemo.

For a year and half, he had no sign of anything. But then a spot showed up then two spots. Now he has glioblastoma. So he started very aggressive treatment and health and juicing regimen.

Tumors shrunk, and we were so grateful but by the next MRI just weeks later, new tumors formed with a vengeance. He was put on hospice and died four weeks later.

There is much more I could share about his journey. He left his wife of 14 years — his high school sweetheart — and three children behind. Our family is still so devastated. We can hardly breathe. It is my prayer one day there will be a cure.

Our family had our whole town support. Our community united. Just telling this small portion of my story about my son is extremely difficult. We have a town of 5,000 small, and we have lost at least four people to glioblastoma during this time. A cure must be found. This was and is the worst thing a family can do to watch your loved one — your young son, father, brother deteriorate before your eyes in just a few weeks. Please support any way you can.
