My Daughter Betty

My daughter Betty is in the 4% of the population that has ever had two isolated brain tumors at the age of 5.  Her firs (right temporal lobe) was removed August 2022 when she was two and this last one (left temporal lobe) was removed April 2025 at the age of 5. Both were classified as low grade gliomas.

My life stopped and it all became how to make my daughter healthy and happy. I had to fight with the local hospital here for weeks before someone believed me and sent her for more tests. Found out she was having a significant amount of absent seizures and a tumor was the cause of it.

Reading stories of other people and their journey helped me understand what was happening and what was to come. How to handle my anxiety.

I am going grey for my daughter Betty. At 5 she is my inspiration. She is my hero. May is the month I want to hold her closer and spoil her rotten.

Take it one day at a time and do not research more than what the doctors are telling you. It will make more panic and anxiety set in.
