Peer Mentor Program

National Brain Tumor Society has partnered with Imerman Angels to bring real, human connections to patients and caregivers impacted by a brain tumor. Imerman Angels is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing personalized, one-on-one support to brain tumor patients, survivors, and caregivers of all grades. Through a network of trained mentors, they help ensure no one faces a brain tumor diagnosis alone.​

Steps to Request a Mentor Angel

​Our partnership with Imerman Angels expands our support community, making it easier for you to connect with someone who truly understands your experience. Imerman Angels carefully matches individuals based on diagnosis, experience, and specific needs.

  2. After completing the questionnaire, a staff member from Imerman Angels will contact you.
  3. Based on your preferred communication method, you’ll connect with a trained Mentor Angel.

Steps to Become a Mentor Angel

Serving as a Mentor Angel is a meaningful way to give back, to remind others that they are not alone, and to strengthen our community through connection. 

Mentor Angels are brain tumor survivors or caregivers who volunteer to provide one-on-one support and hope to others facing similar challenges. By sharing your experience, you provide empathy, understanding, and hope during isolating times.

How to become a Mentor Angel:

  1. Click on the button below to complete a profile outlining your connection to brain tumors and your personal experience.
  2. Participate in a screening and training session with an Imerman Angels staff member.
  3. Upon completion, you’ll be placed in a matching database and contacted when someone seeking support matches your experience.
