Christine’s story

Christine Ann Felder was a normal, healthy, fun, and loving mother. She was a courtroom clerk for the Howard County Circuit Court for almost 11 years. She LOVED life, her job, and her family. I believe she was put on this Earth to touch the lives of others. My mother touched the lives of endless people.

She was a one of a kid mother, friend, coworker, sister, daughter, and wife. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM) April 2017. She never once googled GBM or ever even called her disease “cancer.” She did not allow GBM to define her.
She underwent brain surgery days before the official diagnosis. She kept her spirits up and even found the good in the bad.

After each session of chemo and radiation she would try to be as normal as possible. She would attempt to cook, clean, and hang out with friends. She returned to her job days after completing radiation. She was determined to live a normal life.

One day, while getting ready for work she experienced a massive seizure that sadly was the “beginning of the end.” She then experienced seizures weekly, underwent diverticulitis rupture surgery, and experienced blood clots. After her diverticulitis she never returned home. She was in and out of hospitals and rehab facilities.

My mom had many obstacles but she never once lost faith. She kept a upbeat and positive attitude even on days that she could not remember her birthday or count to 10. Some days we laughed and some days we cried, but my mom always found the good in the bad. One thing i want my mom to be remembered for was her resilience. She fought long and hard for the short 7 months that she fought this horrible disease.

When a loved one passes away no one is 100% prepared or ready to experience a life without that person. Some days are harder then others. Nobody is ever ready to leave this earth but one thing you can do during your lifetime is leave a impact of those around you. My mom left a HUGE impact on the short 55 years she had on this earth and she will forever live in my heart.
