Colloid Cyst Third Ventricle

Lexi

In November of 2005, I collapsed at work. Then next thing I remember was waking up in a hospital with several tubes coming out my head.i don’t think at the time I understood what was actually happening or the seriousness of it. Lay some point in the next day or so I remember the doctors explaining to my parents about a tumor they had found in the third ventricle of my brain.

At 17, it all sounded like a foreign language . I spent the next two weeks or so in and out of surgeries to remove the tumor, then the blood clot that had formed and the to insert another tube to release more fluid from my brain. The doctors said they didn’t know how the tumor formed or how long it had been there. Most people with tumors like this are in their mid thirties and die before they know the tumor is there. I’m lucky!! Without the wonderful staff in the neuro unit at primary children’s center I wouldn’t be here at 26 with two beautiful children of my own. I thank the universe everyday for everyday I’ve been given.
