When artist Vincent S. was diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM) in December 2025, he chose to reframe his experience the best way he knew how.

He began painting portraits of his care team, family, and friends, creating a moving collection titled “The Human Infrastructure” to honor the community that helped him heal.

At the same time, his sister-in-law, Jill, formed a New Jersey Brain Tumor Walk team through the National Brain Tumor Society for family and friends to rally around Vincent and raise funds for glioblastoma research.

Watch this video to hear their story and how they gave back through painting and fundraising after Vincent’s GBM diagnosis.

Glioblastoma Awareness Day

On the eighth annual Glioblastoma Awareness Day, July 15, 2026, we gather to amplify the voices, experiences, and urgent needs of everyone living with glioblastoma, one of the most complex, treatment-resistant, and deadliest types of cancer.

National Brain Tumor Society spearheaded this annual event in 2019 to support survivors and their loved ones, to remember those who are no longer with us, and to honor luminaries working toward better treatments, better quality of life, and a cure.

Thanks to recent progress — the first new brain tumor drug approvals in decades — and more promising breakthroughs nearing the horizon, there is more hope than ever before for better treatments and a cure. For these hopes to be realized, breakthroughs can’t wait: we must keep the momentum going, and we need your help to do so. For everyone with a glioblastoma diagnosis, it’s time for a better chance.
