In 2012 I entered into a new church, in a new town, and met a new friend. A person introduced me to a fellow church member, Sandra. Sandra was in need of support (cleaning, cooking meals, friendship etc.). I felt such a connection and ‘pull’ to help her. Sandra was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer a few years prior. I knew that I had a duty to help my new friend. My time within the last few years was not only a help to her, but I had never considered how much an impact our relationship would change me. My friend Sandra passed away on December 4th 2014. I think about her daily….my life ever changed to have been a FRIEND.
