Personally, I am grateful that a resource like the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) exists. NBTS provides the resources and support that people like Jean and her family need. As a result of NBTS’ advocacy, my aunt is cancer free! That’s because past funding enabled scientists and researchers to make progress in the field of brain tumor research. Specifically, the data gathered from clinical trials using target treatments and immunological therapy. Aunt Jean values the evidence that clinical trials provide. Throughout her career at Abbott Laboratories her team conducted clinical trials which led to innovative technology and medicine for people with Diabetes.
Jean McNamara Ward continues to positively impact the lives of many people. Thanks to Aunt Jean I had a roof over my head while attending college in Massachusetts. Her encouragement was the difference between long hours at the library and throwing in the towel. As a result, I have had a career as an educator that spans 19 years. My Aunt is a multi-faceted woman. When she entered our lives she became an endearing Aunt, super stepmother, faithful wife. However, she is also a wonderful daughter, sister and exemplary employee. In General, Aunt Jean is everyone’s best buddy!
