Overcome Hidden Brain Tumor

When the age of 10, I started having seizures and was diagnosed to have epilepsy. Throughout my adolescence, my parents and neurologist fought on what to do. Neither medicine nor diet solved it. My mom argued for an MRI, but doctors refused. After I turned 21, I signed up for an experimental medicine for seizures. Before putting me on the trial medicine, an mri was done and a benign tumor was found in my temporal lobe. The tumor was successfully removed, and I have now been seizure free for over 26 years. Hallelujah!

Because of the tumor, my memory is weak, especially weak concerning events prior to my brain surgery. But since the brain tumor has been removed, I’ve been able to complete a bachelor’s and two master’s degrees in math and education. Based on what I experienced during my youth, I especially want to held students with special needs.
