You Have Choices

Published on July 17, 2019 in Share Your Story

My husband Mark was diagnosed with seven tumors on July 17, 2017. This year we will acknowledge the first ever Glioblastoma Awareness Day on that date.

Sadly, Mark had multiple tumors and knew that his time was short, so after surgery he decided to forego other treatment. He lived four beautiful (but difficult, of course) months. We would like others to know that you have choices! Just because treatment is recommended, you can decide to opt out if that feels like your choice.

My husband did not WANT to die, but he was not afraid. He was happy and healthy and very athletic when he was diagnosed out of the blue. He changed many lives because of how he faced his illness and I did a TEDx Talk about it to share with others. Wishing you many blessings on your journey.
