Financial Assistance

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, you may be facing not only physical and emotional challenges, but also financial burdens. Brain tumor treatment can be costly. Fortunately, there are financial assistance resources such as grants, federal and state programs, medication assistance programs, and more available to help alleviate some of these burdens.


Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provide information on Medicare and Medicaid enrollment, eligibility, and benefits.

Social Security – Disability Benefits
Social Security provides assistance such as Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) to qualifying individuals who meet federal requirements for disability.

State Social Service Agencies
State social service agencies provide information on state-specific benefit programs, access to medical and behavioral health care, long-term services and support, nutritional and financial benefits to those with low incomes, and more.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of needy families so they can purchase healthy food and move towards self-sufficiency.

Accessia Health provides financial assistance programs, legal support, and educational resources to people living with certain diseases.

CancerCare
CancerCare offers counseling, case management, support groups, education, and limited financial assistance depending on the sources of support they receive at any given time to patients for cancer-related costs such as transportation and child care.

Compassion Can’t Wait provides urgent financial support to single parents of critically or terminally-ill children who face financial crisis.

Family Reach
Family Reach provides financial education, financial coaching, resource navigation, and emergency relief funds to patients and caregivers facing a cancer diagnosis.

Glenn Garcelon Foundation
The Glenn Garcelon Foundation provides need-based grants to patients with living with primary brain tumors.

Good Days
Good Days provides financial support for medical care and travel assistance for people living with certain chronic diseases and cancers.

HealthWell Foundation
The HealthWell Foundation provides financial assistance towards prescription copays, health insurance, travel costs, and more for underinsured people living with certain disease states.

Love, Team Tessa
Love, Team Tessa supports neuroblastoma fighters – patients and their families, as well as doctors and researches – by funding pediatric research and helping families throughout treatment and recovery.

National Collegiate Cancer Foundation
The National Collegiate Cancer Foundation provides services and need-based financial support to young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer who are pursuing higher education throughout their treatment and beyond.

America’s Pharmacy offers a prescription discount program with coupons to save up to 80% at the pharmacy.

Medicine Assistance Tool
The Medicine Assistance Tool (MAT), a service of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), provides a free search engine to help patients and caregivers find public and private medication assistance programs.

NeedyMeds
NeedyMeds provides a free online resource of programs that provide assistance to people who are unable to afford their medications and health care costs.

RemediChain
RemediChain provides donated medications to vulnerable pateints that are unable to access the medications any other way.

Rx Outreach
Rx Outreach is a nonprofit mail order pharmacy committed to helping qualifying individuals and families get the medications they need at an affordable price.

RxAssist
RxAssist provides a database of patient assistance programs to help people find free or low-cost medications that they may not otherwise have the means to afford.
