Fundraise Your Way

Did you know you can work to conquer and cure brain tumors through employer matching gifts or by setting up your own fundraising event? Explore the many ways you can support NBTS at the end of the year.

Create Your Own Event

Whether you are celebrating a survivor, paying tribute to a family member or friend who battled a brain tumor, or you just want to get everyone together for a fun time over the holidays, you can Fundraise Your Way and have a significant impact in supporting our research, advocacy, and awareness efforts. You choose the activity, and we’ll give you the resources to make your fundraiser a success.

Start a Facebook or Instagram Fundraiser

Please note that Meta (Facebook/Instagram) now charges NBTS a small fee for each donation; however, donors are given the option to cover this fee, so every dollar goes directly to the fight to conquer and cure brain tumors.

Invite your friends and family to support NBTS’s campaign to raise funds for research and advocacy initiatives directly through Facebook.

Create a fundraiser from an Instagram post to raise funds — and awareness — between now and the end of 2024. Your fundraiser will be visible in the post, and you can direct your friends to visit a dedicated link to the fundraiser in your bio.

Instagram users can attach donation buttons to their Reels, allowing you to ask followers to donate in support of #BreakthroughsAhead — and setting it up is easy!

You can also start a fundraiser for the National Brain Tumor Society on Instagram Live! Meta now charges NBTS a small fee for each donation, but donors are given the option to cover this fee, so NBTS will receive 100% of the money you raise in support of breakthroughs ahead. Viewers will see an option to donate at the bottom of their screen for your entire live video. They’ll also be able to see that you selected NBTS, and how much money you’ve raised so far.

Other Ways to Give

Does your employer match your charitable contributions? You can make an even bigger impact by partnering with your employer to increase your gift. Check with your human resources (HR) department to see whether your company participates, or you can use the matching gift tool on our donation form: below the “Select Gift Amount” section, click the box next to “See if your employer will match your gift.”

Donating cryptocurrency is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes. This makes Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrency donations one of the most tax-efficient ways to support NBTS.

A contribution of stock or securities is an excellent way to support the National Brain Tumor Society’s mission and receive significant tax benefits. If you wish to contribute in this way, please notify us in advance about your donation by calling the Development Office at 617-863-7989, so we may properly recognize your donation.

Anyone 70 ½ or older can make a tax-free gift to NBTS from their IRA. Contact donations@braintumor.org or 617-237-1731 for more information.

Supporting NBTS through a planned gift today demonstrates your commitment to breakthroughs ahead while creating an enduring legacy in service of a world without brain tumors. The Legacy Society for a Cure is more than just a philanthropic endeavor; it’s a beacon of hope, uniting compassionate individuals and families who understand the urgent need to invest in the future of NBTS’s mission.

Brain Tumor Investment Fund (BTIF) is a venture philanthropy fund supporting NBTS’s vision to conquer and cure brain tumors by investing in emerging biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies. BTIF offers a unique platform for donors interested in high-impact equity investing to spark private sector investment with the aim of creating new survival and quality of life treatment opportunities for patients with brain tumors.
