National Brain Tumor Society and IQVIA Renew Collaboration to Innovate Brain Tumor Research and Patient Engagement

Published on May 14, 2026 in Research, Press Release

Five-year collaboration continues support for the DNA Damage Response Consortium and broader NBTS initiatives

National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS), the largest patient advocacy organization in the United States dedicated to the brain tumor community, today announced the renewal of its strategic collaboration with IQVIA, a leading global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights and health care intelligence to the life sciences and health care industries. The collaboration will continue supporting research, community engagement, and initiatives designed to accelerate the development of new treatments for people living with brain tumors.

Since initially partnering in 2022, IQVIA has supported several NBTS mission-delivery programs, with a focus on helping advance innovative approaches to brain tumor treatment through NBTS’s DNA Damage Response Consortium — a research initiative that brings together leading adult and pediatric investigators to evaluate therapies targeting a tumor’s DNA damage response network.

“Renewing our collaboration with IQVIA reflects the strong progress we’ve made together and our shared commitment to advancing science for patients with brain tumors,” said David F. Arons, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Brain Tumor Society. “IQVIA’s expertise in clinical research and health data science complements NBTS’s leadership in research collaboration and patient advocacy, enabling us to accelerate promising discoveries and move them closer to patients. Through this renewed commitment, NBTS and IQVIA will continue building on the momentum of the past several years — expanding opportunities for collaboration across academia, industry and the patient community to accelerate breakthroughs in neuro-oncology.”

The collaboration has already contributed to broad progress across the NBTS research portfolio, including in targeted therapies, immunotherapy approaches and initiatives that integrate patient and caregiver perspectives into the development of new treatments. Through the DNA Damage Response Consortium, the collaboration has contributed to several key advances as consortium investigators have progressed multiple therapeutic strategies toward clinical evaluation.

IQVIA is also involved across several key initiatives that strengthen the broader neuro-oncology ecosystem. Leaders from IQVIA regularly contribute their expertise through NBTS programs such as the Research Roundtable, a cross-sector forum that brings together academic researchers, regulators, industry partners, and patient advocates to address challenges in brain tumor drug development and identify strategies to accelerate progress.

The collaboration supports NBTS efforts to engage the brain tumor community and build knowledge about how innovation is occurring to bring about transformative new therapies, including IQVIA participation in several NBTS initiatives and events, including Glioblastoma Awareness Day.

“IQVIA is proud to continue our collaboration with the National Brain Tumor Society and the broader brain tumor community,” said Peter Ronco, senior vice president and president of IQVIA Biotech. “By combining NBTS’s leadership in patient advocacy and research collaboration with IQVIA’s capabilities in clinical development and health data science, we can help advance innovative therapies and improve outcomes for patients facing these devastating diseases.”
