Losing my hero

Published on May 18, 2016 in Share Your Story

When I was in the third grade my father was diagnosed with lung cancer and in the fifth grade it had spread to his brain. Those months were hard because I saw the active energetic man transformed into a shell of his former self. He no longer wanted to play catch or do anything else for that matter and finally in October of 2010 we passed away from brain cancer. He was my hero and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him.
