Dana Jones Story

Published on May 12, 2020 in Share Your Story

I am writing on behalf of my daughter Dana.

Dana was born March 8, 2008 a healthy girl. She skipped 1st grade after K. Dana loved playing chess and basketball, loved dancing, swimming, and being around family.

On October 16, 2019 Dana became ill with headaches and vomiting. When brought to the ER, we were told a mass was found in her brain. She had brain surgery the following week to remove as much of the mass that could safely be removed.

She was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioma. She began 33 treatments of radiation Nov 19, 2019. She completed treatments January 9, 2020. Sadly, the cancer spread to the spine and Dana passed January 17, 2020 at 11 years old.
