Don’t Ignore the Symptoms

Published on September 5, 2025 in Share Your Story

My husband had developed nodular melanoma. It was a mole on his forearm he had it removed and 9 months later to the day they were removing a tumor from his brain which was metastatic melanoma. He started the cancer fight in 2018 and lost his fight 6-21-21.

It felt like someone had gut punched me. I thought his symptoms were going to be he needed a stint not cancer. To watch someone so full of life slowly go downhill and be in denial until his dying day is something you never get over.

I wasn’t able to reach out for support. My husband was deep in denial. I did 1 year of grief counseling.

Early detection and fighting the fight. It is a bittersweet month. I’m going gray in my late husband’s memory
