I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June 2004. I was operated on in July 2004 and it was determined I had an anaplastic oligodendroglioma. After the surgery an amazing thing happened.
I took my Temodar for the 3 months, went in for the MRI. The following day, my neuro oncologist called me. I thought this can’t be good news. On the contrary. The remaining portion of the tumor was gone! She spoke to other neuro oncologists and neuro surgeons and they were totally surprised – shocked. Many said the Good Lord has an Angel on my shoulders.
Its been 17 years and I am doing very well. The tumor has not returned. No physical, cognitive or emotional issues what so ever. I am living my life the way I always have. The only thing I had to stop was playing hockey. Because of the tumor? Nope. I’m now a little too old to be playing the game.
Everyday is so special. I do indeed “live to the fullest.” Remember one thing – its not the destination. Its the journey. Enjoy each and everyday!
