My Journey with a Rare Brain Tumor

Elizabeth

In November of 2013 I had a Glomus Jugulare Tumor, located in the jugular foramen, removed. I had symptoms for almost 4 years yet was misdiagnosed time and time again. I was treated for vertigo, vestibular migraines, Meniere’s Disease, anxiety, etc. After years of dizziness caused by heat and noise I started to develop other symptoms: hearing issues, swallowing issues, and eventually some facial paralysis. My surgery was 10+ hours with Dr. Ali Krisht, one of the few surgeons in the world that can remove that type of tumor. I am still battling some post-tumor issues/damage but I feel much better overall. You can read my recovery and story here: www.caringbridge.org/visit/elizabethdavis.
