The CCAM Toolkit: Activities for Awareness
Grab the crayons, glitter, and paint, and let your creativity shine! These activities and projects are easy, creative, and worthwhile for all ages. Together we can raise awareness, the roof, and funds to create change that will last a lifetime. Bring your family together and have some fun as you paint rocks, write to your members of congress, listen to a book reading and music, color, bake cookies, meditate, and dance!
AWARENESS ROCKS!
We think awareness rocks! Get your creative juices flowing with a simple, fun activity for all ages: rock painting. We’ve assembled the tools, tips, and tricks for you, and can’t wait to see how your rocks reflect the messages of #CCAM across social media!
WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR MEMBER OF CONGRESS
You can be an advocate, no matter your age! Elected officials represent all of their constituents, even those who may not be old enough to vote. Our sample letter will help you write a letter to your member of Congress about the importance of brain tumor research funding.
BOOK READING WITH WELL BEINGS STUDIO
Join co-author Sharon Frances, breast cancer survivor and director of Well Beings Studio, for a SNEAK PEEK reading of her new book, Scoops of Joy! Tamal, a boy with cancer, asks his friends for advice when his bird is sick. Along the way, he learns that he doesn’t have to wait to feel well in order to find and bring joy to others.
SHOW YOUR COLORS – OUTSIDE OR INSIDE THE LINES!
Everyone loves to color! Grab your crayons, colored pencils, and markers and get creative with our coloring pages and don’t forget to take a picture and share your #CCAM masterpiece across social media.
COOKIES FOR CCAM
You may have already tried your hand in new culinary endeavors during quarantine, so consider grabbing those whisks and measuring cups once more. Baking can help relieve stress and our NBTS staff members have just the collection of recipes to bring you comfort.
THE FUTURE IS MINDFUL
Mental health and wellbeing is a critical component of living with a brain tumor and caring for a brain tumor patient. Led by Tori Best, PharmD, BCGP, RPh, join us for a virtual meditation class that welcomes people of all ages and abilities to learn the techniques and benefits of meditation and mindfulness.
MUSIC FOR THE MIGHTY
Music has the ability to evoke motivation and understand the unimaginable. Music therapy uses the power of sound to encourage healing and promote a sense of wellbeing. Knowing how hard the bad days are, we decided to create a playlist for when you need that burst of motivation.
DANCE LIKE NO ONE’S WATCHING
Bring your smiles, your family, your best dance moves, and join the fun with Well Beings Studio’s dance party!
