3x Cancer Survivor from Glioblastoma Brain Cancer

Guest Author: Chris R. in California

My name is Chris Ramirez. I’m from San Francisco, California. I’m a 3x cancer survivor from glioblastoma brain cancer. At the age of 17, I was given less than two months to live. Today, I’m 34 and healthy.

I’ve had three brain surgeries and a shunt placed in my head. Dr. Allen Efron from Kaiser Redwood City was huge in my third brain surgery.

The neurosurgeon who took my tumor out initially, also met my 6-year-old son, Alexander, when he was born.

I would like to thank God, my mother, my pops, Dan Bright and the family, the LA Dodgers former GM Ned Colletti, SF Giants Bertha Fajardo for being a second mom, Dave Benzer (Big Poppa), and UCSF.
