My Beautiful Sister vs. Godzilla

My beautiful sister, my rock, my best friend was diagnosed with a very large, very aggressive brain tumor called a glioblastoma…the doctors called it “Godzilla.”

Lynn had had some compression and injury to her brain due to the tumor, as well as a cyst that the tumor decided to produce. We were waiting for her to wake up from her surgeries so that we could plan the next steps in treatment to keep her here with us as long as possible.

We had no idea and no warning so this was an immense shock to us. I had done daily posts on Facebook in hopes that she would be reading them. She had an AMAZING support system out there and it was my wish for her to see and feel that!

If you knew Lynn you knew she was a fighter. Unfortunately, just nine short days after she entered the hospital and just five days after hearing the diagnosis, she lost the battle with this “Godzilla.” I have some peace in knowing that she never knew and that she didn’t suffer for a long period.

Now I just try to honor her, remember her, and continue to love and miss her every single day. She left such a positive legacy in her boys, in her husband, in me, and in anyone that was blessed to have known her. She had such infectious energy, laughter, and love and I will carry that with me until we meet again.
