I was 26 years old when I received a CT scan after some pretty bad headaches. It was then I was told about a large abnormal mass in the front of my brain back in March 2023. The mass was right above my speech center, so it was risky to try and remove the whole tumor. I still had about 5% of the tumor left after the first surgery and had to have a second craniotomy in May of the same year.
After a successful resection, I was told that the tumor was gone (what they could see anyway) and my treatment is this incredible drug class known as IDH inhibitors. Even though I was healthy, I still ended up getting cancer…I recently moved from NY to Philadelphia and am now living my best life with my partner. No matter who you are or where you come from, you are not alone in this fight against brain cancer. GO BIRDS!
