[White Paper] Essential Information Isn’t Reaching Patients with Brain Tumors

Communication Gaps in Biomarker Testing and Clinical Trials

Executive Summary

Results from a survey of brain tumor patients and caregivers found that a lack of awareness and subsequent understanding of biomarker testing and clinical trials is linked to critical omissions during patient interactions with doctors and care teams. This deficiency in patient-provider dialogue and patient education negatively affects patients’ understanding and views of these crucial components of their diagnosis and treatment planning, and limits access to potentially beneficial treatments.

Take Action this CCAM

Urge Congress to co-sponsor the BRAIN Act, strengthen funding for brain tumor research, and protect merit-based research. Act today because patients with pediatric brain tumors deserve more — more and better treatment options, more hope, and more time.
